I am Zack Marshall.

My name is Zachary Marshall Johnson, and I am a recent graduate from Ball State University, where I studied Film Production. 

Growing up, I was always infatuated by cinema. In fact, I distinctly remember one summer when I was six years old, I would wake up every morning at six, before anyone else was awake, and I would watch The Little Rascals (1994) by myself. Then later in the day, I would watch it again, either with my brother or by myself if he refused. And I watched that movie twice, almost every day for an entire summer. 

In seventh grade, while my oldest brother had just joined the Navy, I decided to start a YouTube channel, Mr. Whale. This was a fun space for me to express myself creatively while discovering my passion for the visual arts. During this time, I was heavily involved in musical theater, competitive show choir, and swimming. My vlogs were a way for my brother to stay up to date with the random day-to-day adventures of his twelve year old brother.

I always knew I wanted to entertain, but it was not until March of 2020, during the very start of the Covid-19 Pandemic, when I watched Once Upon A Time... in Hollywood (2019) for the first time, and realized in that moment that there is nothing I want to do more than write and direct feature films. Shortly after, in August of 2020, my family and I moved from Peoria, Illinois to Indianapolis, Indiana, where I attended Franklin Community High School.  During my time at Franklin, I quickly cemented myself as a core member of the video production team within the Radio/TV program. Now, I spend most of my time on academics, making memories with my friends, writing screenplays, filming random projects,  and working as the Assistant Production Manager at an Outdoor Concert Venue.

But most of all, I love spending my time watching movies!
